  • Large Comprehensive Public Hospital:

    Jointly managed by Tsinghua University and Beijing Municipality, the hospital has a total planned capacity of 1,500 beds, with the first phase opening 1,000 beds. On December 30, 2019, the groundbreaking ceremony for the second phase of the hospital was held, with plans to add 500 beds and commence operation in 2024.

  • Medical Insurance Services:

    Began serving insured patients in November 2015; achieved direct settlement for cross-region medical insurance in June 2017; designated as a Class A medical insurance institution in Beijing in November 2021. On December 1, 2023, the hospital app launched the function of direct medical insurance settlement, enabling a streamlined healthcare process with just "one mobile device".

  • Training Bases: Hosts 15 nationally and Beijing-certified residency and specialist training bases, an Edinburgh Royal College of Surgeons general surgery training base, and is approved as a National Clinical Teaching Training Demonstration Center and a National Health Commission Surgical Basic Skills Training Base.

  • Health Technology Innovation: The hospital operates as an engine to solve clinical problems and meet social health needs, and establishes a health technology innovation system driven by clinical problems through the integration of medicine and engineering and serves as the a national clinical trial institution for drugs and medical devices. In 2021, it was approved as the Beijing Engineering Research Center for Key Technologies of Smart Health Alliance. In September 2022, the Institute of Organ Transplantation and Bionic Medicine of Tsinghua University was established based on the hospital.

  • Precision Medical Assistance: Conduct precise medical assistance for echinococcosis and provide support to Xinjiang, Qinghai, and Tibet.

6. International Exchange and Cooperation

Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital jointly established the "Spine and Spinal Cord Diagnostic and Treatment Center" with the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSM), and received physicians from UWSM for training. The liver, gallbladder, and pancreatic surgery, and urology departments received specialist physicians from the United States, Canada, Italy, the Philippines, Germany, and Israel for training. The hospital holds several influential international academic conferences each year and sends academic backbones to participate in mainstream international academic seminars and give keynote speeches. Since 2018, the hospital has implemented the "Hundred-Person Program" for the training of academic backbones. On June 20, 2020, the hospital launched a cooperative training program for internationalized teaching and research backbone with Harvard Medical School. On December 27, 2021, the National University of Singapore Health System and the National University of Singapore held the fourth Medical AI Data Marathon and Expo. The hospital co-hosted the event and sent four teams to the finals, with the otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery team winning the runner-up prize.
